OUR BAG HARDWARE MATERIALS & FINISHING

Our stock hardware is predominantly made of zamac (a zinc alloy, the name is an acronym of the first letters of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper).

Also known as zamak, this lightweight material is the most commonly used for handbag accessories, usually cast into two molds.

Most of our bag making hardware is available in silver and brass plating.

BAG HARDWARE COLOUR MATCHING

Colour matching for metal elements can be an issue because different manufacturers use different materials and plating components/techniques.

We are actively working to ensure consistent finishings across all our stock. While our silver finishes are already matching, we are currently addressing discrepancies in our gold finishes. We are in negotiations with a plating company to produce finishings to our exact specifications. Presently, we offer four types of gold in our stock, each clearly named in the product descriptions to facilitate matching.
