DOUBLE-SIDED LEATHER STROP
DOUBLE-SIDED LEATHER STROP
LEATHER WORKING TOOLS - LEATHER STROP
DESCRIPTION: Lightweight stropping tool made form beech wood and full-grain leather.
USE: A leather strop is a traditional and effective tool for honing and polishing the edges of cutting tools.
Apply a small amount of polishing compound evenly to the leather surface (be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific compound you're using).
Use the flesh side for the first strops and the full grain leather side for the final strops.
Remember that the leather strop is primarily for honing and polishing an already sharp edge. If your blade is dull or has significant damage, you may need to use a more substantial sharpening method, like sharpening stones, before finishing with the strop.
